I had the privilege of working with Marcos during his tenure as our Technical Project Manager at Pendulum, and I can't recommend him highly enough. While his role focused on technical project management, Marcos immediately sought out gaps within the business and offered himself as a resource to nearly every team. His expertise goes far beyond the bounds of a traditional Technical Project Manager—he leveraged his software engineering background to implement scalable solutions that supported multiple departments during a critical period of growth for our engineering team.

Marcos excels at streamlining processes and aligning teams. He worked closely with engineers and stakeholders to build our development pipeline from the ground up, making full use of the Atlassian suite. I hired Marcos as a consultant to help with the development of a web application to track an internal workflow. I had a general idea of what I wanted, but needed someone who could refine that idea into a real solution then build and deploy the whole application. Unfortunately we had to stop development, but that was in no way related to Marcos's efforts. We were on track to deliver a useful solution and I was looking forward to building it with Marcos.

Marcos did a great job of digesting the requirements, building a prototype solution, then iterating on development to improve usability and add features. His communication and documentation was very clear and thorough. He was able to quickly turn around a functioning prototype then was open to suggestions and modifications to improve functionality.

I would hire Marcos again, and will reach out to him when the next project comes up.

I worked with Marcos when he managed creative services at Sunbasket (all digital marketing and print production design, budgeting, and logistics) before he enrolled in a 4 month school for software engineering. I found him to be extremely quick, capable, reliable, accountable, and a pleasure to work with. He was a master of all our software programs, easily adopted new programs, crunched numbers and distilled complex situations with massive facility, and got a ton done. He learns super quickly. I have no doubt in my mind that Marcos will thrive as a software engineer and that he will continue to be an engine of productivity in this new capacity.

Marcos and I worked closely when he was the creative producer (and I was content strategist) at Sun Basket. He kept all of the creative folks in line and on schedule by keeping a level head, communicating deadlines clearly, and showing empathy when our small team would needed more time to complete a project. He was a reliable cross-functional partner organizing the regularly-scheduled print materials needed from a variety of people on the creative team while also partnering with brand/marketing teams to quickly address their ad-hoc requests. Partnering with Marcos on projects made the hustle of start-up work much more manageable as he was always able to keep us on track, manage expectations, and communicate effectively. I think his working style, approach to teamwork, and level-headedness is the ideal support system for any creative team.

Starting as a print production manager, Marcos quickly rose to Creative Producer when it became clear there was no new initiative too ambitious for him to organize into achievable parts. With his level head and sharp wit, he not only kept things moving smoothly across multiple channels, departments, and distribution centers, he also helped everyone keep it all in perspective, not always easy at such an aggressively growing startup.
